What to Expect: Employers in attendance will speak with you about the ways they hire for and support inclusion at their organizations. This will be a wonderful opportunity for you to learn about employers’ programs and initiatives that support diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace. This event is intended to be casual and conversational. Come as you are in campus attire!
How to Prepare:
- Research the companies attending the event by reviewing company pages in Handshake and company websites. Come up with a list of companies you’re interested in speaking with.
- Develop and practice your elevator pitch including a brief introduction of who you are, what you are studying, and what types of opportunities you are interested in.
- Learn some tips for how to evaluate an organization’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Visit Career Center drop-ins hours (Monday-Thursday 12-2 pm in Garey Hall Rm 117 and Friday 12-2 virtually on Zoom) or schedule an appointment with a Career Center staff member in Handshake to discuss any questions.
- Plus, we are holding special drop-ins in The SUITE in the Office of Belonging & Inclusion on Tuesday, September 17, 1:00-2:30 pm (Corr Hall, Room 109). Just stop by with your questions!
