Follow along a day in my life to get a glimpse of what goes on behind the scenes in our office!
9:00 am

- I just arrived at my office and greeted Chuck, our Assistant Director of Academic Services! Our offices are right next door to each other. We always have such lovely chats in the morning.
- The first thing I do is check my Microsoft Planner to see what tasks I can work on for the day. I love using Microsoft planner because it links to other documents in OneDrive and sends me emails when projects are due! Some of the things I do are assist in professional development event planning, track insights and data, and provide career planning support and professional guidance to students.

9:30 am
- OUS update time! This is such a wonderful weekly meeting where all OUS staff hop on zoom and share about all the amazing work their individual teams are working on. It’s so great to hear about what’s happening in the department and it makes us feel very connected.
- I also got to meet my colleague, Jordan’s, new puppy! Jordan is the Director of Student Services. His puppy’s name is Oscar 🐶

10:00 am-12:00 pm
- Work on tasks related to the Peer Career Coaching program! I oversee our team of 5 coaches who give tailored professional development support to fellow students. I review our existing appointments and track our utilization data. You can sign up for an appointment here!
- I love overseeing this program because our coaches help students find meaningful ways to engage in professional development and help them achieve their goals.

12:00 pm
- Research break! In addition to being a grad assistant, I am a master’s student in the Psychology program! I often have research meetings throughout the day, so I pack up my stuff and head over to Tolentine. I work in the Maternal Mental Health Lab and the Sleep and Heart Health Lab. I love the work that I get to do.
1:00 pm
- Coffee time! It’s time for that afternoon pick me up around lunchtime. I’ll head over to Rosie’s or stop by Conn and get a treat from Holy Grounds. Either way, an afternoon coffee is a must! I will continue working on some tasks throughout the afternoon.

3:00 pm
- Time to head to class! I am currently taking 3 classes (Stats, cognitive psychology and intergroup relations). My classes are 2 hours and are mostly discussion-based. If you have any questions about graduate school, email me @Madison Battinelli!
5:00 pm
- It’s time to head home for the day! Thank you for following along my day with me 😊
