SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT WITH A CLAS PEER CAREER COACH
We are excited to make available to undergraduate students in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences the opportunity to schedule a one-on-one appointment with a CLAS Peer Career Coach.
Our Peer Career Coaches have been trained to engage in conversations with students about internship and career interests, how to create a résumé, how to identify opportunities, how to write a cover letter and LinkedIn profile, and much more. They bring to each conversation skill, empathy, and experience.
To make an appointment with a CLAS Peer Career Coach, all you need to do is this:
• Log into Handshake.
• Click on the Appointments tab.
• Select “CLAS: Professional Development.”
• Then select either a 30-minute or 60-minute CLAS Peer Career Coaching Session.
• Follow the short prompts to schedule an appointment.

INTERESTED IN PURSUING A CAREER/INTERNSHIP IN GOVERNMENT?
The federal government offers many exciting job opportunities, but they can be difficult to find, track and navigate, complicated by short application windows and information scattered across hundreds of different webpages. The GoGovernment Federal Internship Finder, created by the Partnership for Public Service, will simplify your search for federal opportunities. The tool compiles publicly accessible information about professional and academic opportunities in government for students and recent graduates into one centralized place.
HANDSHAKE
Administered by our wonderful colleagues in the Career Center, Handshake offers students a one-stop destination for all things related to career exploration. Students can register to attend events, apply for internships and jobs, follow companies of interest, etc. It is a dynamic online tool, and all students are strongly encouraged to explore and leverage it. All students automatically have a Handshake account and simply need to activate it by logging in and registering with their VU username and password.
NOVA NETWORK
Similar to LinkedIn but exclusively for Villanovans (students, alumni, etc.), the Nova Network is a terrific place for students to connect with alumni, join affinity groups, and ask career-related questions. Through Nova Network, members can expand their Villanova professional network, connect with Villanovans in industries and/or cities of interest, learn more about industries, initiate conversations and arrange job shadows, and much more.
IIE INITIATIVES
The Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship offers CLAS students many ways to get involved and learn about entrepreneurship. Visit the IIE Web site to learn more.

Go-to Resources for Student Internship and Job Seekers You’ve already learned about Handshake and the Nova Network, but do you know about some of the other career development resources that the University Career Center offers to students? Focus2, Big Interview, Interstride (for international students), and What Can I Do With This Major? are just a few of the online resources our students can access through—you’ve guessed it!—Handshake. In addition, the University makes LinkedIn Learning available to all students. Through this tool, students can access thousands of career and professional development courses in a range of subjects.
Is a Health Profession in My Future? Villanova’s Health Professions Advising (HPA) Program offers students opportunities to learn more about the many health-related professions that exist and how best to prepare for them. Our advisors meet with students to discuss their short- and long-term goals, academic courses they need to take and much more.
What is the BRIDGE Society?
