Q: What were some of your primary job responsibilities?

Most of the time I was helping the employees work more efficiently by gathering and organizing data into one document as opposed to multiple. This gave the employees more resources to utilize as well as increase productivity. I also helped start new projects by reaching out to others in the company for relevant information. I laid the groundwork for some projects that will be seen by senior management which highlight changes in the business operation.

Q: What was the most exciting part of your role?

I loved sitting in on meetings and learning how business is dealt with. Hearing people talk about the projects we were working on or the customers we were dealing with gave me great exposure to how a company operates. These meetings gave me a great sense of the responsibilities each employee has and how they all work together.

Q: What did you learn from your internship experience?

I learned so much about the oil and gas industry during my time at Energy Transfer. I learned about all the different terminals and pipelines we own and how they are managed, as well as how Energy Transfer ties into the industry as a whole. I also learned so much about the products we deal with. I used to have no knowledge of how gasoline and other refined products come from crude oil but now I understand the resources that are used to fuel our world.

Q: How did you land the internship?

I was emailed with information about the internship because a Villanova alum wanted to see if any undergraduates were interested in the position. I found the alum on LinkedIn, messaged him and we set up a call where we talked about the company and the position. After that, I got an email saying I got an interview and the rest is history!
