Role: Tech Developer Program – Tech Developer Intern

Q: What are some of your primary job responsibilities?
My internship was broken up into two parts. The first half was a 3-week asynchronous learning period for me to study algorithms, data structures and practice on Leetcode with weekly check-ins. The second half was a 6-week residency in which I worked with a team on a software project with expanding requirements and implementations bi-weekly. One week would be for development & learning while the other was for us to showcase our projects. I served as project lead and scrum master of a 3-person team and was awarded Best UI and tied for Best Overall! The project was guided by my teams mentor.
Q: What is the most exciting part of your role?
The most exciting part of my job was being able to lead a team on a successful project and learning from my mentors throughout the program. It was a unique opportunity to learn and showcase my skills. It was the first time I’ve ever built a project at that scale, and the process of designing it was very fun.
Q: What did you learn from your internship experience?
Some things I’ve learned from my experience were how to lead a team, how to work in a startup environment, what software engineering actually looks like and how to create a project from conception to deployment.
Q: How did you land the internship?
I was introduced to the program by someone I connected with on LinkedIn for another opportunity. After being recommended to apply for SEO, I submitted my application and waited roughly a month for their assessment. The following week, I had my recruiter call and then the following day I received my offer. This program supported me in landing my next role at Lockheed Martin where I’ll be working for summer 2026. The mentorship and career experience I received through Tech Developer was unparalleled and the community I worked with was always so supportive and friendly.
