Medical Assistant Opportunity to Gain Hands-On Dermatology Experience in Philadelphia!

If you’re planning a gap year before applying to medical, PA, or nursing school and want meaningful, hands-on clinical experience, this opportunity could be a strong fit.

Stoll Medical Group (SMG) in Philadelphia is currently recruiting motivated individuals to join their team as dermatology medical assistants. Located just steps from Rittenhouse Square, SMG offers a fast-paced, patient-centered environment where you can build real clinical skills while strengthening your pre-health profile.

Why This Role Stands Out

This position is designed with pre-health students in mind. Many past medical assistants at SMG have successfully gone on to medical school, PA programs, and nursing school, often citing their experience here as a key part of their preparation. If you’re looking for a role that goes beyond shadowing and allows you to actively participate in patient care, this is it.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a dermatology medical assistant, you’ll play a direct role in patient care and clinic operations. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting physicians with dermatologic procedures such as biopsies and cosmetic treatments
  • Preparing patients for exams and ensuring a comfortable, efficient visit
  • Accurately documenting patient histories, treatments, and care plans
  • Educating patients on skincare, medications, and post-procedure care
  • Managing clinical supplies and supporting daily office workflow
  • Sterilizing instruments and maintaining exam room readiness
  • Gaining the opportunity to earn certification as a dermatology medical assistant

What They’re Looking For

SMG is seeking candidates who are organized, reliable, and able to thrive in a busy clinical setting. Ideal applicants will have:

  • Strong multitasking and organizational skills
  • Previous medical assistant experience (dermatology experience is a plus, but not required)
  • Availability to work at least 32 hours per week
  • A commitment of one to two years
