Structural Engineer (entry-level)

Position Overview: Azimuth Engineering Group is seeking a talented Structural Engineer to join our team in Parsippany, NJ. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of structural design, computer-aided design, and inspection engineering projects. This position requires an individual who is proactive, highly accountable, highly detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously. This role is pivotal in ensuring operational efficiency and offers an opportunity to work on diverse and challenging projects in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, contributing to the creation of cutting-edge designs that meet client needs and exceed expectations.
Essential Job Functions:
Uses computer-aided design (CAD) and building information modeling (BIM) tools to accurately render and communicate design plans
Prepare structural calculations and reports with some assistance to analyze various structure types
Prepare site plans and details on existing and proposed facilities including towers, water tanks, rooftops, billboards, and other supporting structures using applicable building and design codes
Works with a design team to create design sketches, layouts, and plans, adhering to applicable building and design codes
Enter and track all project related data in a cloud-based platform according to company standards
Conduct site visits to gather existing conditions data and effectively take notes
Collaborate with project team to successfully complete projects with established budgets and deadlines
Provide clear and consistent communication among internal teams, external customers, and direct reporting manager to ensure alignment on project goals, updates, and expectations.
Complete self-review for all deliverables to reduce errors and meet quality standards
Complete assignments of increased difficulty as proficiency increases
Maintain a high level of accountability and ownership in all aspects of the performance of the program and projects, ensuring consistent alignment with business objectives and quality of work products.
Performs other related duties as assigned

Valid drivers license required
Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is required; Masters degree is a plus
0-3 years experience with structural design
Proficiency in AutoCAD is required
Proficiency in Revit and Inventor is preferred
Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) is a plus
Engineer in Training is preferred
Telecommunication experience is a plus
Experience with RISA-3D, tnxTower, OCALC, or similar structural analysis software is preferred
Basic proficiency in the comprehension of codes and standards, including IBC, ASCE, AISC, and ACI is required; TIA is preferred
Physical Demands:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time
Ability to travel to sites
Must be able to access and inspect all areas of buildings, rooftops, and equipment
