About Us
The Behavioral Health in Urban Schools Program (BHUS) at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) partners with schools to implement and sustain evidence-based mental health interventions for students. We work with both urban and rural school districts to improve school climate and provide support for students struggling with anger and anxiety.
Our research focuses on social and behavioral clinical trials and implementation science. This is not lab research – it’s hands-on experience in research administration, supporting the behind-the-scenes work that makes impactful studies possible.
About the Internship
This internship offers real-world experience in research administration and grants management, providing a valuable opportunity to learn how research happens behind the scenes. Interns will support projects like Project RISE (Philadelphia public schools) and Project CARE (rural Appalachia, fully remote schools).
The focus is on data entry, paperwork processing, and research operations. Interns will work on-site in a professional office setting, gaining exposure to confidential data management, IRB processes, and grants administration.
What You’ll Do

- Process paperwork (consent forms, data collection documents)
- Maintain participant tracking logs
- Support documentation for IRB compliance
- Prepare data collection materials and research documentation
