Company Background:
Frontaura Capital is a boutique frontier and small emerging markets hedge fund manager that invests in publicly traded companies in countries such as the Philippines, Vietnam, Cote d’Ivoire, the UAE, Colombia, Turkey, and Chile, among others. We believe frontier markets offer outsized returns for investors able to identify informational and pricing inefficiencies. Frontaura was one of the earliest US-based funds to invest in these markets.
Position: Research Analyst
The primary responsibility in this role will be to conduct research and analysis to support investment decision making across our country and company universe. This will involve extensive bottom-up company research and rigorous valuation modeling. You will work closely with our existing research analyst, head of research, and portfolio manager.
Candidate profile
We are looking for a 2026 economics or finance graduate with a high GPA from a top undergraduate program. Ideal candidates will possess strong initiative, excellent writing and oral communication skills, quantitative aptitude, interest in investing, and, ideally, experience living overseas and foreign language fluency. Please note this position is ONLY for 2026 graduates.
Ideal candidates should:
- be registered for the CFA Level 1 or 2 exam;
- have relevant internship experience, preferably in equity research role;
- have a deep interest in financial markets and value investing principles
- be a structured, logical thinker with exceptional standardized test scores;
- be highly proficient with Microsoft Excel;
- have excellent writing and oral communication skills;
- be comfortable communicating with people from around the world on a daily basis, and work flexible hours as necessary due to time zone differences;
- have experience living overseas and/or foreign language fluency;
- be detail oriented
Please note this is an in person role. You will be expected to be in our Chicago office five days a week.
