DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:
The Employee Relations team supports the organization’s high-performance culture and our investment in employees whose drive, skills, and talent help us reach our goals. We’re a team of professionals who provide employees and managers the guidance and tools necessary to manage performance and conduct to meet M&T’s expectations of excellence. In addition, Employee Relations also develops enterprise-wide policies and programs that support the organization’s objectives, purpose, and values.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
You’ll collaborate with the Employee Relations team to ensure the equitable application of enterprise-wide policies and procedures. There will be several on-going projects that have a Bank wide and regional impact. Your responsibilities could also include:
• Partner with Employee Relations solutions team including handling employee concerns, complaint investigations, and corrective action consultation as assigned
• Collaborate with team to track issues within ER Case Management systems (Workday / Ethics Point, to ensure timely resolution of ER matters
• Work closely with ER Partners on complex employee matters to ensure satisfactory employee outcomes and risk mitigation
• Performs project-oriented assignments for Employee Relations including researching data, compiling information, and preparing results for presentation to senior management.
• Provides ER support in responding to legal matters. Support may include conducting preliminary research, obtaining required documentation, preparing correspondence, etc.
• Provide guidance and direction to employees and HR peers around unemployment policies and workforce accommodation policies
• Conduct research and benchmarking related to various Employee Handbook policies to ensure they are competitive and met all applicable laws and regulations.
HOW YOU CAN GROW YOUR CAREER:
After your first year with the team, you’ll have the opportunity to develop your role into an Employee Relations Associate role, and from there develop into an Employee Relations Specialist.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s Degree (or Master’s) candidate with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
• Work visa sponsorship not offered for this role
IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s Degree (or Master’s) candidate with a concentration in Business, Human Resources; Psychology, Organizational Management
• Highly Proficient in Microsoft Office, data visualization tools and presentation experience
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, exceptional organization skills with attention to detail
• Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills with a strong balance of qualitative and quantitative skills
• Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team, as well as contribute on an individual basis
