This position performs a variety of duties which involve basic accounting and bookkeeping principles.
Responsibilities:
1. Reconciliation of monthly operating bank statements
2. Prepare and post Journal entries
3. Research & correct bank discrepancies
4. Process Tenant Security Deposit Letters and Refunds
5. Compile financial report packages for monthly mailings
6. Obtain quarterly bank ratings from financial institutes
7. Assist other team members when needed
8. Assist accounting department staff with various projects
9. Process requisitions, payments, receipts and other necessary accounting activities, which may include accounts payable and receivable.
10. Track and Log Audited Financial Statements
11. Set up Direct Deposits with Government & State Agencies
12. Process bank Transfers
13. Verify Checks
14. Send/ Receive Mail
15. Type, Fax, Scan & File Correspondence
16. Answer Telephone calls & Arrange Meetings
17. Answer general questions and requests
18. Initiate and approve bank wires, process ACH and book transfers as requested
Required Experience:
- 1-2 years’ experience in the field or in a related area. Preferably some accounting background
Required Education/Training:
- High School Diploma or equivalent, Associate degree highly preferred.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Candidate must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
- He or She should be professional, motivated, highly organized and able to work well alone or with a team.
- He or she should be able to follow instructions and be adept at general office skills such as typing and filing.
- Working knowledge of MS Excel and Word required.
- Knowledge of AS400, Realpage & QuickBooks not required but useful.
