Job Summary:
The Staff Accountant is responsible for managing all financial aspects of the organization including accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Manage the development and maintenance of accounting systems for financial transactions
- Maintain the general ledger, recording cash receipts and financial transactions.
- Reconcile bank, credit card accounts and intercompany accounts
- Coordinate collection activities, with support from the team, including calls and emails to customers, and internal escalations as required for problem accounts.
- Generate and send stipends to volunteers
- Streamline AR functions by maintaining/coding applicable customer discounts and supporting communication on discrepancies
- Complete month-end close procedures
- Maintain on-time and accurate customer invoicing
- Ensure that receivables are collected promptly
- Prepare accounts receivable/payable reports, analyzing the data and recognizing the trends
- Provide accounting and financial support to management as needed
- Support and execute financial projects as needed
- Manage Accounts payable, receivable and expense reimbursements
- Prepare Profit-and-loss statements
- Manage Biweekly Payroll

- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.

- Proficient with accounting software such as QuickBooks Pro.
- Experience with MS Office a plus
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors’ degree in accounting field
- At least two years related experience in accounting role
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.
Wage/Salary: $65,000 – $75,000/year
